Xaghra United’s Daniel Sowatey wins October award

Xagħra United central defender Daniel Sowatey Xaghra is the BOV GFA player of the month for October 2016.

The Ghanaian was at the core of Xaghra’s defence in their 2-1 loss to Victoria Hotspurs and 2-0 defeat to SK Victoria Wanderers, keeping a respectable score line against the much higher quoted teams.

This is Sowatey’s first season in Gozo where he joined Xaghra United after playing in Bulgaria. The 22 year old is destined for a bigger future in Gozitan football due to his superior physical qualities as well as the tactical know-how he express during matches.

Horace Laudi, Regional Manager for Gozo at Bank of Valletta presented Sowatey with the BOV GFA player of the Month trophy for October 2016 during one of Xaghra’s training sessions. Sowatey chose the Arka Foundation to benefit from the donation associated with this award.
