BOV GFA 1st Division League Champions will kick off the defence of their title against Kerċem Ajax with the league commencing on the 20th August 2019. This was determined during the draws of the fixtures for the BOV GFA Leagues and BOV GFA Cup during a press conference held at the Gozo Football Association’s boardroom. The fixtures were drawn by Horace Laudi, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta and Samuel Azzopardi, President of the Gozo Football Association.

‘New signings and interesting transfers between clubs will definitely make this season another memorable one,’ said Dr Azzopardi while thanking Bank of Valletta for its long-term support. ‘Preparations for the new season are well underway with the re-seeding of the Gozo stadium to be ready in time and said “The increased interest in football in Gozo is a catalyst for the enthusiasm of the clubs, the players and their committees. Interesting signings during the summer will ensure another exciting season in the main sport in Gozo’.

‘It is with great pleasure that we are once again the main sponsors of the Gozo Football Association and associated with Gozo’s premiere sports competition,’ said Horace Laudi, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta. ‘As the Bank at the heart of the Gozitan Community, we firmly believe that we have made a tangible contribution towards football in Gozo.’
