At Lawrence Spurs and Zebbug Rovers shared six goal in an entertaining match that left the final score uncertain until the final whistle. With this result the Spurs lost an opportunity to extend their run of consecutive wins, although they remain at the third spot on the table; while Zebbug earned a precious point that lifted them away from the bottom place on the table. The outcome of this encounter must have been more disappointing for St Lawrence as they lost a two-goal lead during the second period and also they failed to registered a win over Zebbug as they did in the matches between the two sides of the previous two round where the Spurs registered 3-2 and 5-1 wins.

Timeline:
St Lawrence had a better start and managed to take the driving seat form the early stages of the encounter.
3’ (0-1) St Lawrence opened the score when Karl Formosa passed inside Zebbug’s area to Adrian Xiberras who saw his shot from a good position that ended in goal despite the attempt of the goalkeeper to save the danger.
4’ The Spurs were again dangerous through Matthias Michael Uzor who entered Zebbug;s area with a personal action but the striker saw his effort that was well saved to a corner by goalie Baskal Saliba.
5’ (0-2) St Lawrence doubled the score from the same corner action taken by Karl Formosa, as Josmar Vella headed the ball inside the area and Zebbug’s defender Robert Grima hit badly in an attempt to clear the ball and committed an own goal.
14’ Zebbug replied with a shot from outside the area by Tiago Barbosa that was neutralised by St Lawrence’s goalie Angelo Brignoli.
17’ St Lawrence’s keeper was called yto make a more difficult intervention to turn to a corner a free kick by Zebbug’s Tiago Barbosa.
24’ (1-2) Zebbug managed to reduce the deficit when Lucas Farrugia received a ball inside St Lawrence’s area and netted with a low shot.
31’ (1-3) The Spurs however managed to re-establish the two-goal lead when a shot by Josmar Vella was partially saved by Zebbug’s keeper Baskal Saliba and from the rebound the ball arrived to an unmarked Matthias Michael Uzor who fired in goal from an angled position.
45+3’ Zebbug could have scored their second goal but an attempt from a free-kick by Tiago Barbosa was saved in two attempts by goalie Angelo Brignoli.

For the second period, Zebbug came out more aggressive in an attempt to recover the score.
1’ Zebbug had a good shot by Robert Grima that was well saved by St Lawrence’s goalie Angelo Brignoli.
11’ (2-3) Zebbug re-opened the issue when Lucas Farrugia won a ball from St Lawrence’s defence, entered the area and from the right flank and from his cross Tiago Barbosa headed in goal.
16’ St Lawrence replied through a shot by Charlon Farrugia that was saved to a corner by Zebbug’s substitute goalkeeper Liam Gatt.
17’ The same goalkeeper had good timing to leave his area and clear the ball away to deny St Lawrence’s striker Matthias Michel Uzor from entering the unprotected area and to conclude towards goal.
18’ St Lawrence kept some pressure on Zebbug’s defence in an attempt to re-establish a comfortable lead but a shot by Charlon Farrugia was saved to a corner by Zebbug’s keeper.
36’ (3-3) Zebbug scored the equaliser when Emanuel Galea delivered a ball inside St Lawrence’s area from a free mick, the defence failed to clear the danger and Tiago Barbosa took the opportunity and placed in goal from close distance.
Play became much more exciting during the final stages of the enclounter.
32’ Zebbug went very close to turn the result in their favour but a strike by substitute Joston Azzopardi from outside the area following a clearance by St Lawrence’s defence was stopped by the crossbar.
34’ Zebbug were again dangerous through an initiative by Lucas Farrugia, who entered the area and from his low cross St Lawrence’s defender Josmar Vella almost committed an own goal in an attempt to clear from the goalmouth but the ball was turned to a corner with a difficult intervention by goalie Angelo Brignoli.
44’ St Lawrence create the last scoring opportunity of the encounter and went very close to clinch the win but a header by Louis Buttigieg following a cross by Charlon Tabone was cleared from the fatal line by Zebbug’s defender Peter Paul Buttigieg to avoid am certain goal.
