BOV GFA Player of the Month
Rodney Buttigieg (Xewkija Tigers) wins September Award
Xewkija Tigers forward Rodney Buttigieg was selected as the first BOV GFA Player of the Month for football season 2017/2018
The 26 year old striker found the net twice in Xewkija’s 3-2 win over SK Victoria Wanderers in the BOV GFA League and was instrumental in their 4-1 victory over Marsascala and a victory with the same score over SK Victoria Wanderers in the FA Trophy organized by the MFA.
Buttigieg’s started his seniors career with Xewkija and has established himself in the first eleven. The attacker known for his powerful drives towards the opponents’ goal is also a versatile player and takes up roles further down the field when instructed by Coach Jesmond Zammit in their effort to defend the title of BOV FA Champions they won last year.
Horace Laudi, Regional Manager for Bank of Valletta in Gozo presented the BOV GFA Player of the Month trophy to Buttigieg in the presence of his team mates and coach. Rodney chose Fondazzjoni Arka to benefit from the donation associated with this award.
