Qala Saints earned their first points in the campaign with a deserved win over Zebbug Rovers.
In the opening match of the GFA Gozo Football League Division II campaign Sannat Lions confirmed their ambitions to be among the challengers for promotion.
Gharghur made through the Preliminary Round of the FA Trophy with a 3-1 win over GFA’s second division side Qala Saints.
In this last match of the campaign for the two sides the final score did not have any impact on the final standings as Xaghra were already sure of the placing second place from the bottom. Xaghra dominated the final stages of the encounter so that they ended up obtaining a win with a large margin.
Zebbug Rovers recovered from a long series of disappointing results and obtained three points from their match against bottom placed Qala Saints. Zebbug’s goal matured with the odd goal from three where the three goals were converted during the first half.
Sannat Lions as expected registered their fourth win over Qala Saints in the campaign and with the points obtained they remain close to the current leaders Munxar Falcons. Sannat’s win arrived with the least possible efforts as they scored the three goals during the first half and controlled play with authority after the break.
