Sannat Lions took sole leadership on the table with the points obtained from a victory over bottom placed Munxar Falcons. Sannat paved the way to the victory with two goals scored during the opening stages of the encounter and although they played more than an hour of the match with an extra player on the field they administered play without producing much pressure. However, Sannat continued to be more dangerous than their opponents and also made sure of the victory with a third goal that arrived in the dying moments of the encounter. In this match Munxar compromised the possibility to earn their first point during the first minutes of play not only by conceding two goals but also by having a player sent off. The Falcons tried to re-open the issue but they were often erratic in the finishing so that Sannat’s goalie was not called to make very difficult interventions.
Munxar created the first scoring opportunity of the match. On 7 minutes Michael Mattias Uzur produced a good move from the left flank but form his inviting cross Jordi Parnis concluded wide form a good position. Sannat opened the score two minutes later when Ajibade Adesina released Sunday Baala in a counter break and the latter entered the area and netted with a low drive. Munxar were shocked and on 16 minutes Sannat doubled the score through a shot from an angled position by Josiah Buttigieg following a prolonged action inside Munxar’s area. Munxar suffered another setback on 21 minutes when Paul Said was sent off for hitting an opponent during a tussle for the ball. Despite player with a player less Munxar managed to recover from the difficult start and created some good opportunities to re-open the issue. On 33 minutes a direct free kick by Francesco Cini was well saved by goalie Angelo Brignoli. In the following minutes Sannat operated two counter breaks through Antoine Camilleri but in the two separate occasion Sannat’s striker failed to hit the target. On 44 minutes Munxars Francesco Cini had a direct corner kick that was stopped by the post. One minute later Munxar’s Michael Mattias Uzur had a low shot form the edge of the area that ended inches wide and in the first minute of stoppage time before half time Sannat’s Ajibade Adesina had a close rnaged attempt that was blocked by goalie Damien Spiteri.
Sannat went again close to score their third goal on 58 minutes but a shot by Omar Xuereb following a personal action ended on the side of the net. Three minutes later Sannat’s Antoine Camilleri came face to face with Munxar’s keeper but once again he concluded badly and the ball ended wide. The same striker had another good scoring opportunity on 63 minutes but his final shot towards an open goal missed the target. Munxar could have reduced the deficit on 78 minutes but Jordi Parnis had his low shot saved to a corner by goalie Angelo Brignoli. Sannat made it 3-0 on 81 minutes when substitute Joseph Zammit entered the area from the right flank and concluded in goal with a lob over the goal keeper form an angled position. Munxar scored their consolation goal on 85 minutes through a shot from outside the area by Francesco Cini that surprised goalie Angelo Brignoli. In the third minute of stoppage time Sannat also ended with ten players as substitute Daniel Borg was sent off for dissent.
