SK Victoria Wanderers registered a handsome win over Mgarr United and became the first Gozitan side to make it with the last sixteen teams in the competition.  The Wanderers held territorial command of play for long stretches, scored two goals scored during the first half and made sure of the victory with three goals scored during the second period.

The hosts had an excellent start and opened the score in the fourth minute of play through a strike from outside the area by Predrag Dordevic.  Mgarr’s reaction was sterile and the Wanderers continued to produce danger through Predrag Dordevic, Aleksander Komiljenovic and Srdjan Draskovic.  Victoria doubled the score on 35 through a low shot by Milanko Raskovic following a mishap at Mgarr’s defense.  Mgarr’s best opportunity to reopen the issue arrived on 44 minutes through a fee kick from long distance by substitute Daniel Law that was turned to a corner with difficulty by Victoria’s goalie Branko Vrndic.

Mgarr came out more aggressive after the break and were dangerous through attempts by Lazar Doric and substitute Mark Abela.  However, the Wanderers recovered from the difficult start and increased their lead through a low shot by Igor Grkajac after receiving in the area form Milanko Raskovic following a free kick.  Just after the hour mark the Wanderers could have added another goal but a strike by Predrag Dordevic was stopped by the woodwork.  On 67 minutes Victoria scored their fourth goal through a header by Srdjan Draskovic from a cross by Igor Grkajac.  SK Victoria Wanderers made sure of the victory with the fifth goal that arrived on 89 minutes through a close ranged shot by Srdjan Draskovic following a free kick by Igor Grkajac.
