SUMMARY
In the opening match of the BOV Gozo Football League for the second division, Sannat Lions obtained a 2-1 win over St Lawrence Spurs so that they had an encouraging result in their ambition to be among the main contenders to obtain promotion at the end of the campaign. In this match, both Sannat and St Lawrence were aiming to win the first match of the 2019/2020 second division league. Sannat seemed more dangerous in attack but failed to take a comfortable advantage so that they ended up conceding St Lawrence’s equaliser at an early stage of the second period so that the last part of the encounter turned out into a good contest phase where the win could have gone either way. Sannat, however, managed to score the decisive goal six minutes from the end of regular time through Antoine Camilleri, who ended up the hero for his side as he scored the two goals that earned Sannat the full points at stake.
