GFA BOV Player of the Month – March 2024
Brian Alejandro Parada: Xewkija Tigers FC
Xewkija Tigers’ Argentinian forward Brian Alejandro Parada won the honour of
BOV Gozo football player of the month for March. Parada received the BOV trophy
player of the month during a presentation held at the Bank of Valletta office in Rabat
Gozo by Mrs. Charmaine Borg, manager of the Bank of Valletta for the Gozo Region.
Brian Alejandro Parada joined Xewkija Tigers in January when Xewkija was
going through a difficult period and was at risk of ending up in the relegation zone. The
The Argentinian striker had an immediate impact in Gozitan football and helped Xewkija to
maintain an advantage over the teams that were at the bottom of the table and at the same time
they struggled to challenge for third place in the standings. Parada is a typical striker who
exploits the physical and technical qualities to be dangerous in contracting actions
by using the space and when solving situations of actions in front of the posts’
opponents.
During March Xewkija Tigers were involved in four games from the
BOV Gozo Football League first division championship, where they achieved two victories,
they lost a game and were drawn in another game. Xewkija got six important points from the first
two games in March when they beat Kercem Ajax with a score of two to one
in a direct confrontation against relegation where Parada scored one of the goals. The attacker
of Xewkija Parada was the main protagonist in the following game when he scored four
personal goals in a six-to-two victory against Nadur Youngsters to Xewkija
they practically got rid of the danger of relegation and at the same time opened the door to winning
of the championship because Nadur dropped their three-point advantage over Qala Saints.
In the third game of March Xewkija lost the match against Ghajnsielem with a score of
one free, but they bounced back when they got a point from a goalless draw in
next game in a clash for third place against SK Victoria Wanderers.
Brian Alejandro Parada chose that the Bank of Valletta’s contribution linked to
this honour goes to the Ark Foundation.
