Nadur Youngsters scored two goals during the first half of their match against bottom-placed Oratory Youths so that they paved the way to their third win of the campaign and ended the first round in a midtable position with a comfortable lead over the red zone. Nadur’s win gains more credit when considering that they played almost all the second p with a player less on the field as they had a player who was sent off following a second bookable offence.
In this match, the two sides expressed their respective position on the table as Nadur was conditioned by the pressure to be more convincing in their performances. The Youngsters are showing signs of improvement from the beginning of the campaign but they still cannot express the full potential of their team so they do not give the impression that they can be challengers to defend the title. However, in this match, Nadur dominated Oratory and the win could have been achieved with a larger margin. Oratory are struggling to be competitive in the top flight and in this match they continued to show some limitations in their defence and also in attack so that they ended up conceding the sixth defeat from the first six matches of the championship.
Timeline:
Nadur took command of play from the first minutes of the encounter and could have scored an early goal. HT (2-0)
Second Half
The match lost much of the interest after the break as Oratory found it very difficult to produce a reaction while Nadur reduced their pressure on Oratory’s defence mainly because they were reduced to ten players at an early stage of the second period so that the score remained unchanged.
4’ (red card) Nadur ended up playing the rest of the match with ten players when Brandon Said was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Rian Almeida Lopes.
12’ Nadur could have created more danger when Olimpio Gabriel Fernandes delivered a good cross inside Oratory’s area but Castro Martins had a header that was weak and goalie Angelo Brignoli saved without difficulty.
