Zebbug Rovers re-opened their chances to join the challengers for the runners-up position with three precious points obtained from a 2-1 over St Lawrence Spurs.
This was the first match of the second round for the two sides and both teams were aiming for the win as St Lawrence could have opened a lead over the other teams who are with them on equal points while Zebbug needed to close the gap with the three teams who are currently sharing the second place on the table. The match turned out to be well contested and the outcome was uncertain. The match ended up being decided with three goals scored during the first half when Zebbug capitalised from a good moment and scored their two goals in the space of two minutes.
