Munxar Falcons bounced back from a difficult period with a 4-1 victory over Zebbug
Rovers, securing third place in the league standings.
Both teams were eager for a win in this match, as a victory for Zebbug would have
allowed them to overtake Munxar in the table. The first half was a closely contested
battle, but after the break, Munxar proved to be more effective, scoring three
unanswered goals to seal the three points before the final moments of the match.

Timeline:
Munxar started aggressively, controlling the early stages of the game and taking the
lead. However, Zebbug responded well and managed to equalize before halftime,
leaving both teams level at the break.
2’ Zebbug goalkeeper Gabriel Saliba made an important save to deny a powerful shot
from Nathaniel Mercieca.
17’ (0-1) penalty Munxar took the lead from the penalty spot after Owen Saliba fouled
Kenneth Mizzi is in the box. Samuel Muscat converted confidently from 11 meters.
24’ Zebbug responded with a shot from Andrew Ofulue Chukwuwinke, which Munxar
goalkeeper Damian Spiteri pushed away for a corner.
32’ (1-1) Zebbug equalised when Nathan John Cini’s shot hit the post, and Oliver
Cremona reacted quickly to head the rebound into the net.

Second Half:
Munxar took full control after the break, quickly regaining the lead and neutralizing
Zebbug’s response. They secured the win with two more goals towards the end of the
match.
5’ Munxar nearly scored when Nathaniel Mercieca’s shot was only partially saved by
Gabriel Saliba, but Neil Mifsud missed the rebound.
14’ (1-2) penalty Munxar restored their lead with another penalty, this time after Pierre
Paul Camilleri fouled Neil Said. Samuel Muscat stepped up again and beat the
goalkeeper.
26’ Zebbug had a chance to equalize, but Harry Paulin’s free kick went wide.
27’ (goal disallowed). Zebbug thought they had equalized, but Harry Paulin’s goal was
ruled out for offside.
31’ (1-3) Munxar extended their lead when Nathaniel Mercieca fired a close-range
shot past the goalkeeper.
32’ Zebbug’s goalkeeper, Gabriel Saliba, denied Munxar another goal, blocking a good
effort from Neil Said.
37’ (1-4) Munxar sealed the victory when Chris Ronaldo Bohui dribbled past the
defence and finished with a precise shot.
45’ Zebbug’s goalkeeper Gabriel Saliba made another important save, stopping a shot
from Samwel Muscat.
