In the last match from the first round of the BOV Gozo Football League of the second division, Kercem Ajax registered their fifth win from five matches to retain the top spot on maximum points. With this result, Kercem also complemented their perfect run as they have not conceded a goal from the first part of the campaign.
The match was quite interesting during the first half hour of play as Kercem struggled to take full control of the play. The Ajax managed to take the break with a one-goal lead and doubled the score during the early stages of the second period so that Zebbug seemed demoralised and they never gave the impression that they could re-open the issue.

Second Half
Zebbug’s reaction after the break was sterile and Kercem took advantage of the situation as they increased their lead after a few minutes of play of the second period so that the outcome of the encounter was determined at an early stage.
5’ (2-0) The Ajax doubled their lead through a fine shot from outside the area by Christian Vella that ended out of the reach of Zebbug’s goalie.
16’ Kercme could have added another goal but a header by Andrea Debrincat from a corner action ended wide.
35’ Kercem’s Cesar Velez Da Silva had a good attempt directly from a free kick that was well saved by Zebbug’s goalie.
43’ (3-0) Kercem ensured the win by scoring the third goal that arrived through Cesar Velez Da Silva who headed in the net following a cross from the left flank.
