In the final match of the seventeenth round of the First Division championship, SK Victoria Wanderers secured a dominant 7-0 victory over Xaghra United. This result lifted them out of second-to-last place in the standings, putting them in a strong position to avoid the relegation play-off. On the other hand, Xaghra failed to keep pace with the Xewkija Tigers in the battle for third place.
SK Victoria Wanderers entered this match determined to avenge their two previous defeats against Xaghra earlier in the season, as well as to secure crucial points to move out of the relegation zone. Xaghra looked overwhelmed and struggled to cope with their opponents’ play throughout the 90 minutes. The Wanderers established a four-goal lead by halftime and then controlled the second half, adding three more goals before the final whistle. SK Victoria Wanderers’ forward, David Garba Emmanuel, was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick, while his strike partner, Igor Henrique Da Silva Costa, netted twice and continued his challenge for the league’s top-scorer title.
