Xewkija Tigers retained their position at the top of the BOV Gozo Football League First Division table after earning three important points from a 3–1 victory over Nadur Youngsters. With this defeat, Nadur remain second from bottom in the standings.
Xewkija’s win was built on two goals scored in the closing stages of the first half. Up to that point, Nadur had played the more attacking football but failed to capitalise on their scoring chances. Once in front, Xewkija showed their experience — controlling the match after doubling their lead and sealing the victory with a third goal in the second half.
Xewkija striker Brian Parada continued his excellent form, netting a brace, while Marcelo Barbosa delivered his best performance since joining the club. Nadur looked demoralised after the break, though they managed a late consolation goal.
