Timeline

First Half:

St Lawrence started the match in an adventurous manner and enjoyed early supremacy, opening the scoring and creating several chances to increase their lead. As the half progressed, Oratory began to push forward from defence and managed to reduce the deficit, making the match more open and competitive.

4’ (1–0) St Lawrence took the lead through a low long-range shot by Charlon Farrugia, which left the goalkeeper with no chance.

13’ Oratory goalkeeper Paul Cremona was called into action to save a shot from Felipe Augusto.

17’ St Lawrence came very close to doubling their lead when Jurgen Mario Portelli delivered a low cross from the left, Felipe Augusto anticipated the defence and struck towards goal, but Ethan Refalo cleared off the line with the goalkeeper beaten.

19’ St Lawrence remained dangerous, this time through a shot by Charlon Farrugia that went wide.

23’ Oratory missed a good scoring opportunity when Aroldinho headed wide from a right-wing cross by Richard Portelli.

30’ Oratory threatened again, but a free kick by Aroldinho was comfortably dealt with by St Lawrence goalkeeper Joel Micallef.

34’ (2–1) Oratory got back into the match when Aroldinho scored with a first-time shot following a right-wing cross by Richard Portelli.

42’  St Lawrence went close to scoring again, but a shot by Felipe Augusto went wide.

Second Half:

The match was evenly contested in the opening minutes of the second half, but after St Lawrence scored their third goal, Oratory appeared demoralised and found it difficult to mount a recovery.

4’ Oratory had a chance to equalise, but Aroldinho fired over from a good position.

6’ (3–1) St Lawrence restored their two-goal lead when Oratory’s defence made a poor clearance, allowing Felipe Augusto to collect the ball and finish with a low shot.

30’ St Lawrence goalkeeper Joel Micallef produced a difficult save to deny Aroldinho from a free kick.

35’ (4–1) St Lawrence virtually sealed the match when Felipe Augusto scored his third goal after being set up by Daniel Atzori.

40’ Oratory goalkeeper Paul Cremona denied St Lawrence another goal with a fine save from a long-range effort by James Grima.
