Current leaders of the main Gozitan football championship and hot favourites to become champions this season earned three points as expected from their match against bottom placed SK Victoria Wanderers.  The Hotspurs dominated over their opponents during the first half and opened a comfortable three goal lead so that they administered play after the break and sealed the victory with a fourth goal scored in the dying moments of the encounter.  This was the tenth win form eleven matches of the championship and remain the only undefeated side in the top flight.

The Hotspurs took command of play from the early stages and in the third minute of play a shot from long distance by Elton Da Silva missed the target.  The Wanderers replied on 10 minutes through an effort by Predrag Dordevic that ended away from goal.  The Hotspurs increased their pressure as time passed by and on 14 minutes a good shot by Chris Camilleri after receiving from Chris Mercieca ended just wide.  Four minutes later the Hotspurs protested for a penalty when Dwomoh Lombas Galder ended on the floor in the area following a contact with an opponent.  On 21 minutes the Hotspurs had a low shot by Elton Da Silva that was stopped by the post and the defence cleared to a corner.  From the same corner action the defence cleared the ball just outside the area and Henrique Maciel fired in goal with a low shot that ended out of the reach of the goalkeeper.  On 25 minutes the Hotspurs were again dangerous through a shot by Chris Camilleri following a cross by Ferdinando Apap that ended wide.  One minute later Henrique Maciel released Elton Da Silva inside the Wanderers area and the latter prolonged towards Christian Mercieca who had his attempt saved by goalie Giacomo Ratto.  The same goalkeeper was called to make another good intervention on 31 minutes to neutralise a strike from outside the area by Chris Camilleri.  On 33 minutes the Hotspurs doubled the score when Dwomoh Lombas Galder headed back towards Ferdinando Apap at the edge of the area and the latter concluded in goal with a low strike and the ball hit the base of the post before it ended in goal.  The same Ferdinando Apap had a header on 36 minutes following a cross by Chris Camilleri that ended wide.  In another occasion by the Hotspurs on 39 minutes goalie Giacomo Ratto was well placed to save a shot by Elton Da Silva and one minute later the Hotspurs again protested for a penalty alleging handling when a cross by Dwomoh Lombas Galder hit a defender and from the same action Jonathan Bajada’s strike ended just over the crossbar.  On 40 minutes a shot by Emiliano lattes needed just wide from the Wanderers goal and two minutes later the Wanderers operated a good move inside the Hotspurs area through Abdullahi Ige but the attempt from close distance by Aaron Touarha was saved in two attempts by goalie Adrian Parnis.  The Hotspurs scored their third goal in the following action when Emiliano Lattes released Chris Camilleri inside the area and the latter concluded in goal with a low shot towards the far post.

Play during the second period took place mainly in the midfield where the Hotspurs administered their lead with authority.  The Wanderers managed to produce some offensive play and on 72 minutes they also reduced the deficit when Abdullahi Ige unmarked substitute Ian Xuereb who fired towards goal and the ball took a deflection and ended out of the reach of the goalkeeper.  Three minutes later the Hotspurs replied with a header by Dwomoh Lombas Galder following a cross by Elton Da Silva that was saved to a corner by goalie Giacomo Ratto and one minute later a goal by Ferdinando Apap following a cross by Henrique Maciel was disallowed for handling.  On 82 minutes the Hotspurs could have added another goal but a header by Ferdinando Apap following a cross by Elton Da Silva hit the crossbar and five minutes later a shot by Elton Da Silva following a long action inside the Wanderers area got a deflection and the action ended in a corner.  The Hotspurs sealed the victory on 89 minutes when Elton Da Silva operated a counter break and from his cross Dwomoh Lombas Galder concluded in goal with a shot on the run.
