SUMMARY
Nadur Youngsters as expected earned qualification to the semi-finals of the Knock Out competition from their match against SK Victoria Wanderers. The current leaders of the top flight in Gozo dictated matters throughout the ninety minutes but they only opened the score with a goal cored during the opening minutes of the second period and put their minds at rest from the qualification with two goals scored during the final stages of the encounter.

Nadur came out with the intention to take command of play and to score an early goal.
4’ A shot by Nadur’s Shaun Attard, after receiving from Lucas Barreto Da Silva was blocked to a corner by Victoria’s keeper Matthew Towns. From the same corner action a header from a good position by the same Da Silva ended high.
12’ Victoria’s goalie Matthew Towns was again called to make a difficult intervention when he saved a close ranged attempt by Stefan Cassar who took the ball from a deflection by the defence following an attempt by Lucas Barreto Da Silva.
13’ The Wanderers replied through a shot by Njongo Doding Priso following a personal action that ended away from goal.
Nadur kept insisting but as time passed by they failed to create serious danger within Victoria’s area.
30’ Nadur had an opportunity to threaten Victoria’s defence but goalie Matthew Towns was well placed and neutralised a header by Predrag Djordjevic from a free kick by Chris Camilleri.
36’ Skipper Shaun Attard had a good shot following a clearance by Victoria’s defence from a corner actin ended away from goal.
39’ Victoria’s keeper Matthew Towns was once again called to make an important intervention when he saved in two attempts a strike by Stefan Cassar.

After the resumption Nadur continued to enjoy supremacy over their opponents.
47’ (1-0) A low corner kick by Chris Camilleri was not cleared by the defence and Predrag Djordjevic took the opportunity and netted from close distance.
Play for most of the second period took place in difficult weather conditions due to the continuous rain that poured in the afternoon at the Kercem Ajax Stadium.
57’ Nadur were again dangerous through a shot by Stefan Cassar following a cross by Gennaro Hili but the ball ended just wide.
67’ Victoria’s keeper Matthew Towns managed to block a good shot by Shaun Attard and the defence managed to clear the danger form the area with some difficulty.
74’Nadur’s substitute Marcelo Barbosa had a good header form a good position that ended high.
80’ Nadur went again close to scoring through a shot by Predrag Djordjevic that ended high.
82’ Victoria Wanderers had their best opportunity to level the score but a strike by Njongo Doding Priso was saved with some difficulty by Nadur’s keeper Steve Sultana.
84’ (2-0) Nadur doubled the score through a header by Hugo Santa Rosa Cruz from an angled position that surprised Victoria’s defence and the goalkeeper.
89’ (3-0) Marcelo Barbosa sealed the win for Nadur when he netted with a low drive following personal action.
