The Gozo Football Association deplores the assault on the Assistant Referee

The Gozo Football Association wishes to deplore without reservations the assault suffered earlier today by Mr Andrea Pavia who was one of the Assistant Referees in the match between Oratory Youths and Sannat Lions, from the BOV Gozo Football League of the second division, where a player from Sannat Lions attacked Mr Pavia. The Gozo Football Association will be taking all the necessary disciplinary action as established by the statute of the Association and also by that of the Malta Football Association.  

In the meantime, the Gozo Football Association wishes to express solidarity with Mr Andrea Pavia and with the other match officials Mr Massimo Axisa and Mr Adrian Caruana. 

The Gozo Football Association does not tolerate these kinds of actions in Gozitan football and anywhere else.  The Association wishes to than the Malta Police for their intervention and for their cooperation.
