Nadur Youngsters obtained a convincing win over Gharb Rangers in the first match from match-day 12 of the championship so that they retained their second place on the table.  Nadur found it difficult to take command of play during the first half as Gharb were well deployed and also produced actions which threatened Nadur’s rearguard on more than one occasion.  Nadur paved the way to the victory with a goal scored midway through the first half and practically put their minds at rest of the three points with the second goal scored during the opening stages of the second half.

Gharb seemed in a better shape during the first minutes of play and in the fifth minute they were dangerous through a cross shot by John Paul Grima thst ended wide.  Nadur replied on 9 minutes through a free kick by Dewide Dos Santos that ended just high and three minutes later Nadur were again dangerous through a shot by Sahun Attard that took a deflection by Gharb’s defence and the ball arrived to an unmarked Brandon Said who had his attempt from an angled position that ended on the side of the net.  On 18 minutes Gharb’s Borja Polo Longarela had a low shot that was partially saved by goalie Matthew Muscat and the defence cleared the ball from the area.  In another good action by Gharb that arrived two minutes later, Michael Bezzina released Marcelo Barbosa inside Nadur’s area but the latter saw his shot from an ideal position ending just wide.  Nadur opened the score on 23 minutes when Dewide Dos Santos passed through Gharb’s defence with a personal action and concluded in goal with a shot towards the far post.  Gharb had an immediate reaction and on 29 minutes Marcelo Barbosa passed inside the area to Borja Polo Longarela but the latter saw his shot ending wide.  On 35 minutes the same Polo Longarela had a low shot from an angled position after receiving from Marcelo Barbosa ended wide and in the first minute of stoppage time before half time Polo Longarela had a goal that was disallowed for an offside.

Nadur took command of play after the break and doubled the score on 49 minutes through a fine shot by Shaun Attard who was unmarked by Darko Krstic.  On 55 minutes Nadur added another goal when Darko Krstic headed inside the area a cross by Dewide Dos Santos and Ronaldo Da Silva followed the action and concluded in goal from close distance.  Gharb were shocked but on 66 minutes they could have reduced the deficit but a header by Darko Stojanovic from a corner kick by John Paul Grima ended wide.  Five minutes later the same John Paul Grima lost a good scoring opportunity when the defence failed to clear a cross by Michael Bezzina but shot form close distance missed the target.  In the following action Gharb’s keeper Daniel Spiteri saved a low shot by Josef Buttigieg.  On 80 minutes Nadur lost a golden scoring opportunity but a header by Darko Krstic following a cross by Dewide Dos Santos and with an open goal at his mercy was stopped by the post and the ball ended in te hands of goalie Daniel Spiteri.  Nadur however scored the fourth goal on 88 minutes through substitute Joseph Owen Borg who fired in goal with a low shot following an action in the area with the participation of Dewide Dos Santos and Shaun Attard.
