Sannat Lions obtained a convincing 4-1 win over Qala Saints in the penultimate match from round three of the campaign so that they increased their lead of their challengers for promotion to four points. Sannat were determined to take full advantage of the result obtained by Oratory in the previous match, managed to open a two-goal lead and continued to administer play so that they practically made sure of the three points with goals scored after the break.

Sannnat produced pressure over Qala’s defence from the early stages of the encounter.
8’ A header by Sannat’s Joseph Zammit from a corner kick by Mario Mifsud was blocked by Qala’s keeper Omar Xuereb and from the rebound, Ebube Ralph Okpokwu’s shot was cleared off the line to a corner by Andrew Attard.
11’ (0-1) Sannat opened the score when Qala’s keeper Omar Xuereb saved to a corner a close-range shot by Ebube Ralph Okpokwu, and from the dame corner kick taken by Mario Mifsud, Joseph Zammit headed in a goal from a close distance.
21’ Qala replied with a free-kick by Felipe Augusto De Oliviera that was saved to a corner by Sannats keeper Matthew Muscat.
22’ (0-2) Sannat doubled the score when Mario Mifsud delivered to Joseph Zammit from a throw-in and the latter prolonged inside the area to Ebube Ralph Okpokwu who headed in goal from an ideal position.
28’ (1-2) Qala reduced the deficit when Andrew Attard passed through Sannat’s defence with personal action, avoided the intervention of the goalkeeper and guided the ball beyond the line.
29’ Qala’s goalie Qala Omar Xuereb was well placed and blocked to a corner a close-ranged shot by Ebube Ralph Okpokwu. From the resultant corner action, Sannat’s Fabian Xuereb incredibly lifted over the crossbar from close distance.
34’ Sannat were again dangerous through a shot by Ebube Ralph Okpokwu from an ideal position that was well saved by Qala’s keeper Omar Xuereb.
HT (1-2)

Sannat had a better start after the break and practically paved the way to make sure of the win with an early goal.
47’ (1-3) penalty – Sannat were awarded a penalty for a foul by Matthew Portelli on Ebube Ralph Okpokwu and the same striker converted from the spot kick.
51’ Qala’s goalkeeper Qala Omar Xuereb risked to commit an own goal when he cleared badly and the ball hit the crossbar but the same goalkeeper recovered his position and saved the attempt form the melee by Joseph Zammit.
66’ Qala’s keeper was again called to make a difficult intervention and managed to partially save a strike by Sannat’s Mario Mifsud. From the rebound Sannat’s Oliver Farrugia netted from close distance but the goal was disallowed for an offside.
67’ In another dangerous action by Sannat, a shot by Oliver Farrugia was well saved by goalie Omar Xuereb.
78’ (1-4) Sannat sealed the win with the fourth goal that arrived through a good pass by substitute Aaron Azzopardi that released Ebube Ralph Okpokwu who entered Qala’s area and fired in goal from a position.
81’ Qala could have scored a second goal but a free kick by Felipe Augusto De Oliviera ended just wide.
