GFA Notice issued today (11/3/2020) by Secretary Tony Grech:
As you are all aware Malta has registered its first COVID-19 positive patients. This was not unexpected as it was only a matter of time. The GFA’s primary concern continues to be the safety of the players, staff and spectators.
We are actively following the directives issued by the Department of Health and in close contact with the relative authorities. Following the decisions taken, all GFA organised matches will take place as normal. However, the maximum allowed capacity at our stadiums will not exceed 2,000 spectators. We will be programming our electronic ticketing system to ensure compliance. Kindly come early to the Stadium as entrance will not be allowed once the maximum number is reached. Spectators are also advised to follow general hygiene guidelines. (Learn more)
It is also advisable that vulnerable people watch Gozo Stadium matches live through live streaming on the YouTube channel.
The GFA Council urges people to remain calm, not to spread misinformation and obey directives issued by the Government.
We would like to remind you (and ask you to relate this to all your members and staff) to take the necessary precautions for the prevention of respiratory infections:
