In the last match from Match Day 6 of the BOV Gozo Football League of the second division, Munxar
Falcons and Gharb Rangers shared the spoils in a draw of four goals so the two sides continue to
occupy the lower places on the table.

The two teams were motivated to obtain the three points at stake as Munxar were aiming to move to
third place on the table, while Gharb are still seeking to register the first win in the campaign. With the

outcome of this encounter, Gharb registered their fourth draw from six matches but remain at the bottom
of the table, while Munxar pulled with them St Lawrence Spurs at the second place from the bottom.

Play for most of the time was quite balanced although Munxar were forced to play the second period with
a player less on the field. Gharb was very close to achieve their main objective but Munxar managed to
score a second equaliser that determined the final score with a goal that arrived seconds away from the
final whistle.

Timeline:
Munxar came out in a better shape and created some potential scoring opportunities but Gharb
recovered well and as time passed by the Rangers shared play.
2’ Munxar could have scored an early goal when Henry Fabian Solis entered Gharb’s area but his
attempt towards the far post ended wide.
4’ The same Henry Fabian Solis could have concluded better but his header from a corner kick by
Brandon Said was saved to another corner by Gharb’s keeper John Paul Cassar.
7’ Munxar missed another open scoring opportunity when Gharb’s goalie cleared badly from his area
and the ball arrived to an unmarked Henry Fabian Solis but the latter saw his attempt when Gharb’s
the goal was unattended, and that ended wide.
45+1’ (red card) Munxar ended up playing with ten players as Robert Grima was sent off for a foul on an
an opponent in the midfield.

Second Half
Gharb came out for the second period determined to take advantage of the extra player on the field and
although they created danger and managed to take the lead on two occasions, they still conceded
Munxar’s reaction with ten players so that the two sides left the field of play with a point each.
58’ (0-1) Gharb opened the score with a goal scored by Carlos Cutajar.
81’ (1-1) Munxar managed to recover the deficit through Henry Fabian Solis who concluded behind
Gharb’s goalie from a good position.
83’ (1-2) Gharb had an immediate reaction and regained the lead through debutant Brazilian striker
Vitor Gabriel Soarez Souza.
90+4’ (2-2) Munxar’s Henry Fabian Solis ended up the hero for his side as he levelled the score and
saved the result. With this goal, Solis became the leader of the top scorer’s table of the category with six
goals.
