Holders Nadur Youngsters secured their place in the quarter-finals of the BOV GFA Cup with a 2–0 victory over Xaghra United. The match brought together the two teams currently occupying the bottom places in the league standings, both eager to achieve a positive result in this competition to make up for their disappointing league form.
Nadur were the more adventurous side throughout the encounter and managed to take the lead in the first half. Despite maintaining dominance after the break, they could not find a second goal until stoppage time, when they finally sealed a well-deserved victory.
