During 2025, the Gozo Football Association implemented an environmental initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and social responsibility, in collaboration with the employees at the Gozo Stadium.
Throughout the year, all plastic bottles left behind by spectators during football matches at the Gozo Stadium were collected. These bottles were then deposited into the Beverage Container Refund Scheme (BCRS) on three occasions.

- June 2025 – €260.00
- December 2025 – €250.70
- Total collected: €789.50
All proceeds generated through this recycling initiative were donated in full to Puttinu Cares, in support of the organisation’s ongoing work. In recognition of this contribution, Puttinu Cares presented the Gozo Football Association with a Certificate of Appreciation.
The Gozo Football Association wishes to thank the Gozo Stadium employees for their collaboration and commitment, as well as all spectators whose cooperation made this initiative possible. This project reflects the Association’s commitment to environmental awareness while continuing to support meaningful social causes within the community.
