In the opening match of the ninth round of the BOV Gozo Football League First Division, SK Victoria Wanderers collected three vital points with an emphatic 6–0 victory over Nadur Youngsters, extending their advantage over the same opponents and further distancing themselves from the relegation zone.
This fixture was a direct clash between two sides at the lower end of the table, with Nadur needing a win to overtake the Wanderers in the standings. However, SK Victoria Wanderers adopted a far more aggressive approach and dominated the match from start to finish. Victoria, who fielded three foreign players making their debut in Gozitan football, remained dangerous throughout the ninety minutes. They effectively secured the victory with four goals in the first half alone and, in addition to the six goals scored, created several other clear scoring opportunities.
Nadur were playing their first match without coach Pablo Doffo, who recently joined Sliema Wanderers, and were also missing several regular players due to suspension or lack of full fitness. As a result, they appeared unsettled and undermined their chances of a positive result with defensive errors, while also lacking sharpness in attack and rarely threatening the opposing goal.
The standout performer of the match was Venezuelan striker Ender Vielma, who marked his debut for the Wanderers by scoring four goals.

First Half:
SK Victoria Wanderers pushed forward from the opening minutes and immediately began applying pressure on the Nadur defence. Within the first half-hour they had already built a three-goal lead, allowing them to manage the game with growing confidence.
2’ Victoria could have done better from a corner when Andre Cutler headed poorly and the ball went wide.
8’ (1–0) Victoria opened the scoring after Emerson Zammit capitalised on a weak defensive clearance and finished with a precise shot into the corner.
14’ Nadur goalkeeper Zak Vella was alert to block a close-range effort by Ender Vielma.
16’ Victoria threatened again on two separate occasions, but shots by Mustapha Amodu and Kurt Grima were blocked by the defence.

Second Half:
Nadur struggled to mount any meaningful response after the break, allowing the Wanderers to control proceedings and continue creating the better chances.
4’ (5–0) Victoria scored their fifth goal when Mustapha Amodu broke down the left and squared the ball for Ender Vielma, who finished from an ideal position.
10’ Victoria goalkeeper Omar Xuereb saved a long-range effort from Pedrinho.
14’ (6–0) penalty The Wanderers increased their lead from the penalty spot after Leander Buttigieg fouled Emerson Zammit in the area. Ender Vielma converted the penalty to complete his personal four-goal haul.
15’ Victoria threatened again following defensive errors, but Mustapha Amodu’s efforts struck the side netting.
