SK Victoria Wanderers recovered from a disappointing spell and earned three important points with a 4–0 win over bottom-placed Nadur Youngsters, defending their fifth position in the standings and maintaining a safe advantage over the relegation zone.
This was a very important match for both teams. Nadur needed a win to keep alive their hopes of avoiding last place in the remaining fixtures, while the Wanderers sought all three points to extend their lead over Nadur to nine points. Victoria achieved their objective and are now almost certain to avoid the risk of finishing bottom.
Victoria’s victory was fully deserved, as they held long stretches of control throughout the match. The Wanderers scored early and secured the points with three additional goals in the second half. Nadur tried to keep pace, but they were too weak in attack and rarely threatened the Victoria goal.

Timeline
First Half:
SK Victoria Wanderers started aggressively and dominated the early stages, opening the scoring and creating several chances to extend their lead. Nadur tried to react as time passed, pushing players forward, but Victoria maintained their advantage until the break.
3’ (0–1) The Wanderers took the lead when Kurt Grima sent in a cross from the right and Mustapha Amodu headed the ball into the net.
6’ Victoria nearly doubled their lead when Ender Vielma advanced on the left and squared the ball to Mustapha Amodu, who was unmarked, but the Nigerian forward mis-hit his effort and the ball went wide.
7’ (crossbar) – The Wanderers were unlucky when Mustapha Amodu set up Ender Vielma, whose shot struck the post with the goalkeeper beaten.
14’ Nadur responded with a shot from outside the box by Diego Rodriguez, but it went just wide.
22’ Victoria’s goalkeeper produced a difficult save to deny Nadur an equaliser, tipping a header by David Oliveira over the bar after a cross by Neil Mifsud.
29’ Nadur goalkeeper Zak Vella reacted well to block a close-range effort by Mustapha Amodu.
34’ (protests for penalty) The Wanderers appealed for a penalty when Matthias Cordina fell in the box before he could shoot, but the referee awarded a corner instead. From that corner, a header by Andre Cutler finished just wide.
37’ Victoria wasted another good opportunity when a cross from Mustapha Amodu cut through the defence, but Owen Fenech failed to hit the target and the danger was cleared for a corner.
39’ Nadur threatened again when David Oliveira broke through the defence, but his low shot went wide.
42’ Nadur had the final chance of the half when Murilo Scarpari attempted a shot, but it was too weak and goalkeeper Samuel Camilleri saved comfortably.

Second Half:
SK Victoria Wanderers once again started aggressively after the break and quickly doubled their lead, leaving Nadur demoralised and unable to mount a meaningful reaction.
2’ Victoria created danger when Mustapha Amodu broke through the defence but his shot from a good position was saved for a corner by goalkeeper Zak Vella.
3’ Zak Vella made another important save, turning a long-range shot by Luke Fenech into a corner after a defensive clearance. From that corner, the Nadur goalkeeper twice denied Victoria from close range.
8’ (0–2) The Wanderers scored their second goal when Emerson Zammit sent a long pass toward Mustapha Amodu, who outpaced the defence and finished with a low shot past the goalkeeper.
24’ (0–3) Victoria practically sealed the points with a third goal, a long-range strike by Matthias Cordina that found the net despite the goalkeeper’s attempt to stop it.
27’ The Wanderers nearly added a fourth when Ender Vielma advanced down the right and sent the ball goalwards, but Neil Mifsud cleared it for a corner before Amodu could tap it in.
39’ Nadur goalkeeper Zak Vella denied Victoria again by blocking a low shot from a good position by Mustapha Amodu.
