BOV GFA Player of the Month – Lucas Baretto Da Silva (Sannat Lions) wins October Award

by | Dec 7, 2021 | 21/22, News

Sannat Lions central defender Lucas Baretto Da Silva is the BOV GFA Player of the Month for October 2021. Charmaine Borg, Manager of Bank of Valletta’s Gozo Branch presented him with his trophy.

Baretto Da Silva started playing in Gozo some years ago when he joined Nadur Youngsters and joined Sannat Lions at the beginning of the last football season on their return to topflight Gozitan Football. The 27-year-old has established himself in the core of the defense in order to lead the other players who lacked experience in the top division.

Sannat Lions are confident of keeping away from the relegation zone and after a somewhat difficult start to the league, they obtained 6 points to finish the first round in the middle of the standings. Lucas Baretto Da Silva was instrumental in Sannat 1-0 victory over SK Victoria Wanderers and to record the biggest surprise of the league when they defeated title challengers Għajnsielem 4-2.

Baretto Da Silva chose the Arka Foundation to benefit from Bank of Valletta’s donation associated with this award.
