The match brought together the two teams currently occupying the bottom places in the league standings, both eager to achieve a positive result in this competition to make up for their disappointing league form.

Nadur were the more adventurous side throughout the encounter and managed to take the lead in the first half. Despite maintaining dominance after the break, they could not find a second goal until stoppage time, when they finally sealed a well-deserved victory.

Second Half:

Nadur came out stronger after the break, showing more attacking intent and creating several scoring opportunities as the half progressed.

52’ In a quick response, Xaghra’s Lucas Farrugia broke through the defence but shot wide.

56’ From a corner, Scarpari’s header hit the post as Nadur pressed for a second.

58’ Xaghra goalkeeper Winston Tom came off his line in time to deny Brandon Said after a clever through ball from Pedrinho.

62’ Pedrinho tried again, but his effort was comfortably saved by Winston Tom.

72’ The Xaghra keeper once again denied Nadur, tipping Scarpari’s attempt over the bar after good work from Pedrinho.

74’ Nadur striker Neil Mifsud went close with a shot that missed the target.

75’ Xaghra replied through Lucas Farrugia, whose shot was deflected for a corner.

84’ Joseph Xerri tried from long range for Nadur, but his effort went wide.
