Għajnsielem recovered from two consecutive defeats in the championship and earned three points from a convincing 4-0 win over bottom placed SK Victoria Wanderers.  With the points obtained the Blacks retained their second place on the table on equal points with Kercem Ajax, but with six points from the leaders at the end of Match-Day 9.

Ghajnsielem dominated the encounter despite the fact that they played most of the match with a player less on the field.  Ghajnsielem converted their supremacy by scoring on four occasions and also neutralised Victoria’s reaction with an effective defensive deployment.  Ghajnsielem’s veteran striker Johnny Camilleri scored a brace in this important win, which could put the Blacks back in the race for the title, and with these goals he recorded the 150 personal goals in the Gozitan first division championship.

For this match Ghajnsielem had Keith Borg and Kevin Farrugia who were missing due to a suspension while striker Jhon Arboleda Valencia was not included in the list of –players due to an injury.  On the other hand the Wanderers had Aud-Gistine James Obaje and Nicholas Vella back in the starting line-up after recovering from injuries but were without central defender Asante Agyeman missing due to an injury.  With this result the Wanderers remain at the bottom of the table, trailing by three points behind their closest rivals in the relegation zone.
