obtain at least a point from this match until the end of the first half as the Citizens increased their efforts

his status as the top scorer of the category with nine personal goals.

Meilak was cleared off the goalmouth by defender Nicholas Grech.

but the ball ended wide.
11’ Munxar’s Gabriel Sillato had a good shot following a clearance by Victoria’s defence but the ball
ended high.
21’ Victoria’s goalie Omar Xuereb was well placed and saved with some difficulty a free kick by Munxar’s
Ryan Meilak.
23’ (1-0) The Wanderers opened the sore through Joseph George Vella who concluded in the net with a
good shot following a personal action.
31’ (1-1) Munxar had a good reaction and scored the equaliser through a strike by Aron Buttigieg
following a corner action and with the ball hitting the crossbar before ending in the net.
HT (1-1)

Second Half
After the resumption, the Wanderers came out more determined and practically took command of play so
that they regained the lead during the opening stages of the second period and made sure of the win by
scoring a third goal.
7’ (2-1) Victoria went ahead for the second time when Neil Camilleri surprised Munxar’s defence and
headed in a goal from a corner action.
Munxar’s reaction was sterile while the Wanderers continued to administer play.
