Qala lived up to expectations, dominating their opponents to the extent that qualification was practically secured within the opening half hour. Gharb did their best to keep the scoreline respectable, but they conceded goals early in both halves and never really looked capable of avoiding a heavy defeat.

Timeline
First Half:
As expected, Qala took control of the match from the opening minutes, asserting their superiority and building a three-goal lead by the end of the first period.
3’ Qala created the first dangerous action through a corner by Joseph Zammit, but the ball rolled across the face of the goal and was cleared for another corner.
5’ Gharb goalkeeper Etienne Bajada blocked two consecutive efforts from Gilberto Carrara and Ibrahim Mohammed.
14’ (0–1) Qala opened the scoring when Matteo Camilleri advanced on the right and delivered a low cross for Ibrahim Mohammed, who tapped the ball into the net from close range.
17’ (0–2) Qala doubled their lead as Ibrahim Mohammed set up Joseph Zammit, who left the goalkeeper with no chance from inside the box.
26’ Gharb’s goalkeeper again denied a close-range attempt from Nicholas Inguanez.
27’ (0–3) Matteo Camilleri found Joseph Zammit inside the area, who fired high into the net to make it three.
31’ Camilleri anticipated the goalkeeper’s movement, but defender Anthony Sultana recovered in time to clear off the line.
35’ (0–4) Gustavo Lemos made it four with a powerful shot from outside the box that finished in the corner of the net.
41’ (1–4) Gharb reduced the deficit when a blocked free kick fell kindly to Tristan Axiak, who struck home from a central position.
44’ Gharb appealed for a penalty when Wesley Barbaske went down inside the box following a free kick by Damon Hili, but play was waved on.

Second Half:
The match lost much of its competitiveness in the second half as Qala slowed the tempo, though they continued to dominate possession.
49’ (1–5) Qala restored their four-goal advantage when substitute Kurt Mifsud played through Matteo Camilleri, who calmly beat the goalkeeper from close range.
54’ Gharb almost scored again when Barbaske crossed low from the right, but Gean Dias failed to connect.
55’ (1–6) Gharb conceded an own goal when defender Romario Mysteqja mis-hit a clearance under pressure from Nathan Njoku, sending the ball past his own goalkeeper.
71’ Gharb went close again as Oliver Cremona’s long-range strike hit the crossbar.
74’ Qala goalkeeper Franco Buttigieg was called into action to block a central shot from Gean Dias.
77’ (1–7) Substitute Luke Attard extended the lead with a well-struck shot from outside the box that surprised the goalkeeper.
87’ (1–8) Qala completed the rout when they were awarded a penalty for a foul by Daniel Farrugia on Matteo Camilleri. Emanuel Buttigieg’s initial shot from the spot was partially saved by Etienne Bajada, but Buttigieg followed up to place the rebound into an open goal.
