SK Victoria Wanderers booked their place in the semi-finals of the BOV GFA Cup for the second consecutive season after securing a 3–0 victory in the derby against Second Division side Oratory Youths.
The win was more challenging than expected, as Victoria struggled to break the deadlock for over an hour. Their forwards found it difficult to get past Oratory’s organised defence, and two of their three goals were eventually scored by the team’s central defenders.
Oratory surprised their more fancied opponents with a solid defensive performance, conceding few clear chances during the first hour of play. However, in the final stages, they pushed forward in search of a goal, leaving space at the back — something the Wanderers took full advantage of by adding two late goals to seal the win.

Second Half
The pattern of play remained similar early in the second half, but the Wanderers finally managed to open the scoring around the hour mark. The goal gave them confidence, and they went on to secure qualification with two late strikes.
48’ Oratory came close to surprising their opponents when a short clearance from Victoria’s defence fell to Omar Calleja, but his shot went just wide.
50’ At the other end, a shot by Caique Souza was blocked by Paul Cremona.
60’ (1–0) Victoria finally broke the deadlock when Emerson Zammit crossed from the left and Andre Cutler headed the ball into the net.
69’ (goal disallowed) Oratory goalkeeper Cremona saved a shot by Zammit, and from the resulting corner Jose Wilkson scored with a header — but the goal was disallowed for a foul in the area.
71’ (goal disallowed) Wanderers had another goal ruled out shortly after when Emerson Zammit’s shot beat the goalkeeper, but an offside infringement was flagged.
88’ (0–2) Victoria doubled their lead when Caique Souza’s shot was partially saved by Cremona, and Neil Camilleri fired the rebound into an empty net.
90+3’ (0–3) Substitute Sam Harland sealed the victory, slotting home from close range after a low cross from Kurt Grima.
